  • 4 eggs
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. cake flour
  • 2/3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. anise extract

Directions

    Separate eggs; beat egg yolks until light and lemon-colored. Add sugar to egg yolks gradually beating it in.

    Add dry ingredients; sift together and add anise flavoring.

    Fold in egg whites beaten until stiff but not dry.

    Turn into a greased shallow pan and bake in a 350° oven for about 45 minutes or until done.
