- 2 c. plain flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. chopped, pitted dates
- 6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 c. sliced maraschino cherries
- 4 eggs, beaten
Directions

1Stir together flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Stir in nuts, dates, cherries and chocolate pieces.

2In a small bowl beat eggs and sugar.

3Stir into flour mixture.

4Turn into well-greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.

5Bake in a 325° oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until top is golden and pick inserted in center comes out clean.

6Cool in pan on rack for 10 minutes.

7Remove from pan.

8Cool completely, top side up on rack. Makes 1 loaf.
