- 2 c. brown sugar
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 egg
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 3/4 c. sour milk
Directions

1Mix flour, sugar, salt and shortening, blending with fork. Save 3/4 cup of this mixture for top crumbs.

2To remainder, add baking powder, soda, egg, sour milk and cinnamon.

3Beat briskly until smooth.

4Put into greased pan and scatter crumb mixture on top.

5Bake 25 minutes in hot oven (400°).

6Bake in loaf or 9 x 9-inch pan.

7Serve with honey.
