Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. chopped dates (do not use chopped dates in carton)
  • 1 c. sliced maraschino cherries
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 c. sugar

Directions

    Sift together flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Stir in nuts, dates, cherries and chocolate chips.

    In a small bowl beat eggs with sugar.

    Stir into flour mixture.

    Turn into a greased and floured 9-inch loaf pan.

    Bake at 325° for 1 hour or until tester comes out clean.

    Cool in pan 10 minutes.

    Remove and cool on rack.

    Bread is best wrapped and stored at least 1 day before slicing and serving.
