  • 4 squares (1 oz. each) unsweetened baking chocolate
  • 1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 1-1/2 cup whipping cream, whipped
  • 1 can (1-1/3 lb.) cherry pie filling, chilled
  • Toasted almonds (optional)

Directions

    In heavy saucepan, over medium-low heat, melt chocolate with sweetened condensed milk.

    Remove from heat; stir in extract.

    Pour into large bowl; cool or chill thoroughly.

    Beat until smooth.

    Fold in whipped cream.

    Pour into prepared pastry shell.
