  • 1 each pie shell (9 inch) baked
  • 4 ounces chocolate unsweetened
  • 14 ounces milk, sweetened condensed
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream whipped
  • 21 ounces cherry pie filling
  • 1 x almonds toasted, optional

Directions

    In a heavy saucepan, over medium-low heat, melt chocolate with sweetened condensed milk.

    Remove from heat; stir in extract.

    Pour into large bowl; cool or chill thouroghly.

    Beat until smooth.

    Fold in whipped cream.

    Pour into prepared pastry shell.

    Chill 4 hours or until set.

    Serve with pie filling.

    Garnish with almonds if desired.
