- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 1 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/4 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/4 c. water
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 2/3 c. margarine
- 4 (1 oz. each) sq. Baker's unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
- 3 eggs
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Brush sides and bottoms of 4 (9-inch) round layer pans with margarine.

3Bake only 2 layers at a time. Measure into large mixing bowl all cake ingredients except eggs. Beat at low speed to blend, then beat at medium speed 2 minutes, scraping sides and bottom of bowl frequently.

4Add eggs and beat 2 minutes more.

5Pour 1/4 batter (or 1 cup) into each pan.

6Layers will be thin.
