- 1 tablespoon black peppercorns
- 8 ounces water
- 1 cup sugar
Directions

1In a spice grinder, coarsely grind the black peppercorns.

2In a small saucepan, combine the ground pepper with the water and bring to a boil.

3Remove from the heat, cover and let stand for 20 minutes.

4Pour through a fine strainer into a jar.

5Add the sugar, cover and shake gently until dissolved.

6Refrigerate for up to 1 month.
