- 1 qt. milk
- 6 eggs
- 1 lb. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 3 (12 oz.) cans evaporated milk
- 3 Tbsp. black walnut flavoring
- black walnuts, toasted and cooled
Directions

1Scald the milk; mix eggs, sugar, salt and flour.

2Beat well and cook over medium heat until mixture thickens.

3(I cook in the microwave, cooking on Medium, setting the timer at 3 minute intervals, stirring well after each 3 minutes.

4It takes about 9 to 12 minutes this way.)

5Chill the custard as well as the canned milk.

6When ready to freeze, add the chilled canned milk and the flavoring to the custard.

7Freeze until almost firm and add the cooled black walnuts.

8Continue to freeze until firm.
