- 1 c. sugar
- 6 Tbsp. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 well beaten egg yolks (save whites for meringue)
- 2 c. milk or Milnot
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 tsp. butter
- 1 c. chopped black walnuts
- 1 baked 9-inch pie shell
Directions

1Sift together sugar, flour and salt.

2Blend in milk and egg yolks.

3Cook in double boiler until thickened.

4Cool before adding walnut meats, vanilla and butter.

5Pour into 9-inch baked crust. Bake in a 450° oven for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 325° for 30 minutes.

6Top with meringue and brown.
