- 4 egg whites, beaten
- 1/2 c. flour
- 1 c. black walnuts
- 2 sticks butter
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. milk
- 2 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Beat egg whites until stiff and set aside.

2Flour the walnuts with 1/2 cup flour.

3Set aside.

4Cream butter and sugar in mixing bowl.

5Add egg yolks, one at a time.

6Sift together remaining flour, salt and baking powder.

7Add this alternately with milk to the butter-sugar-egg mixture.

8Stir in vanilla.

9Stir in walnuts. Fold in egg whites.

10Pour into greased and floured tube pan and bake for 1 1/2 hours at 350° or until done.
