- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. shortening
- 3 eggs
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. each nutmeg and cinnamon
- 1 tsp. soda
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 c. blackberries, cooked with juice
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2Grease and flour three 8-inch pans. Cream the sugar and shortening.

3Add eggs.

4Mix flour and spices. Mix with sugar mixture. Add berries and mix well.

5Pour into greased pans and bake 30 to 35 minutes or until done.

6Cake should be moist. Don't overbake.
