- 2 qt. blackberries
- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 to 2 Tbsp. butter
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 c. milk
Directions

1Cook berries, 1/4 cup flour, sugar and butter until thickened. Sift remaining flour, baking powder and salt.

2Blend in the shortening.

3Add milk.

4Mix quickly.

5Drop by teaspoon into slowly boiling blackberry mixture.

6Reduce heat.

7Cover and simmer for about 20 minutes.
