- 1 c. shortening
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. blackberry jam or seedless blackberry preserves
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 c. pecans
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1 c. Angel Flake coconut
- 1 c. dates
- 1 c. raisins
Directions

1Cream shortening, sugar and eggs.

2Sift flour, cinnamon, soda and salt together.

3Add flour mixture and buttermilk to creamed mixture.

4Next, add blackberry jam.

5Add fruit last (dust with wee bit of flour to keep from going to bottom of pan).

6Bake in 300° oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
