- 1/4 c. plus 2 Tbsp. margarine, softened
- 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. self-rising flour
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda plus 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans or chopped walnuts
Directions

1Cream margarine; gradually add sugar, beating well.

2Add the egg and vanilla; beat well.

3In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture, mixing well.

4Stir in chopped nuts and chocolate morsels.

5Spread batter in a lightly greased 8 x 12 x 1 1/2-inch baking dish.

6Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.

7Cool and cut into squares (about 1 1/2-inches).
