  • 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 12 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 12 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

    Preheat oven to 350F Spread pecans on baking pan and toast for 10 minutes.

    Pour into a bowl to cool.

    Butter a 9-inch square pan and set aside.

    Whisk flour, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl and set the mixture aside.

    In a large bowl, beat butter and both sugars together until the mixture is light and fluffy.

    Add eggs and vanilla and beat until combined.

    Add the flour mixture and continue beating.

    Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips and the toasted pecans.

    Using a spatula, spread the mixture into the buttered pan.
