- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 Tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/2 stick butter, chilled and cut into small pieces
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 3/4 dried currants
- Turbid ado sugar crystals
