- 10 apples, pared and sliced
- 3 c. water
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- enough milk to make a stiff batter
Directions

1Bring apples, water and brown sugar to a boil and cook until half done.

2With hands, mix butter into dry ingredients.

3Add egg and milk.

4Drop dough on boiling apples.

5Cook 25 to 30 minutes. Serve with milk.

6Other fruit can be used instead of apples.
