- 2 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 3 eggs
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- dash of nutmeg
- dash of salt
Directions

1Scald the milk and butter in a double boiler over hot water. Beat eggs and sugar together until light.

2Add milk to this mixture.

3Mix well.

4Add vanilla, salt and nutmeg.

5Return to boiler.

6Cook until custard coats the spoon, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.

7Cool.

8Put in dish and refrigerate.
