- 3/4 c. boiling water
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
- 2 egg whites, beaten stiff
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Combine sugar, boiling water, salt and cream of tartar in saucepan.

2Stir until sugar is dissolved.

3Boil to 230° on candy thermometer.

4Pour sugar mixture slowly into egg whites, beating constantly.

5Add vanilla and beat until thick and creamy.

6Frosts 2 (9-inch) layers.
