- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- pepper to taste
Directions

1Wash okra thoroughly in cold water.

2Drain off water.

3Do not cut the caps off the okra.

4(This prevents the vegetable from falling apart in the cooking.)

5Cover the okra with water in a small saucepan.

6Add the baking soda and salt.

7Cook for 20 to 25 minutes until okra is tender
