- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. shortening (not butter or oleo)
- 1 medium egg
- 2 c. flour
- water
Directions

1Mix salt and flour.

2Cut in shortening until fine.

3Beat egg in measuring cup.

4Add enough water to make a cup of liquid.

5Add to dry ingredients and mix well to moisten.

6Turn out on floured board and knead about 10 times.

7Roll until about 1/4-inch thick. Add flour to rolling pin and surface as needed.

8Cut in 1-inch squares and drop into boiling broth.

9Takes about 20 minutes to reach chewy texture that is pot pie.
