Braised Asparagus

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 pounds asparagus spears Medium, tough ends removed
  • fine sea salt to taste
  • freshly ground pepper to taste
  • salt Coarse see, to taste

Directions

    In a large skillet, melt butter over Medium heat. Add asparagus and shake the skillet unitl they fall into a single layer on th bottom of the pan.

    Raise the heat slightly and cook until the butter starts to sizzle, 1-2 minutes. Season with fine sea salt and pepper. Reduce heat to Low. With a spatula, rotate the asparagus as they cook, turning them so they brown slightly on all sides. Cook for an additional 10-12 minutes, or until tender. Taste for seasoning. With a slotted spoon, gently transfer the asparagus to a platter. Sprinkle with a small amount of coarse sea salt.
