  • 34 cup water

    Trim leeks to white and light green parts only, then cut in half lengthwise.

    Separate the layers and rinse.

    Melt butter in large skellet over medium heat.

    Add leeks and water, season with salt and pepper to taste.

    Cover, simmering about 14 to 16 minutes or until leeks are very tender.
