- 1 large head red cabbage (about 3 lb.)
- 1/4 c. butter or oleo
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. cider vinegar
- 1/2 c. water
Directions

1Cut cabbage in half.

2Wash, drain, core and shred.

3Melt butter in kettle over low heat.

4Add shredded cabbage.

5Saute 5 minutes.

6Add sugar, salt, vinegar and water.

7Toss until mixed. Cover.

8Cook 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.

9Makes 8 to 10 servings.
