Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 3 lb. boneless round or chuck steak (1 1/2-inch thick)
  • 1 can beer
  • 1 can beef broth
  • 1/2 c. chopped onions
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme, crumbled

Directions

    Mix flour, salt, pepper, oil and steak.

    Rub flour mixture into meat well.

    Brown in Dutch oven or kettle.

    Add beer, broth, onions, garlic, bay leaf and thyme.

    Bring to boiling; cover and simmer over low heat 2 1/2 to 3 hours until tender.
