  • 3 c. All-Bran
  • 1/2 c. melted shortening (oleo or Crisco okay)
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 1/2 c. flour, unsifted
  • 2 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • nuts (optional)
  • dates (optional)
  • raisins (optional)

Directions

    Let All-Bran and boiling water set for 5 minutes.

    Mix in remaining ingredients.

    Bake in oven at 400° for 20 minutes.

    You can keep batter in refrigerator for 3 to 4 weeks and bake as needed.
