  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 2 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1/2 qt. buttermilk
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. bran flakes
  • 2 c. All-Bran

Directions

    Mix soda into the boiling water and cool mixture.

    Cream together the remaining ingredients.

    Add the water and soda mixture.

    Bake in papered muffin tins at 375° for 12 to 15 minutes.

    Mixture will keep in the refrigerator for up to one week.
