  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 2 c. 100% bran flakes
  • 1 c. Crisco (canola oil)
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 qt. buttermilk (low-fat)
  • 5 c. flour
  • 5 tsp. soda
  • 4 c. All-Bran cereal
  • 1/2 box raisins (optional)

Directions

    Pour boiling water over bran flakes.

    Add Crisco.

    Stir.

    Add remaining ingredients.

    Stir together.

    Bake at 400° for 15 to 22 minutes.

    (Better if batter is chilled.) Batter will keep in refrigerator for 6 to 7 weeks.
