  • 2 c. Nabisco 100% Bran
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 2 1/2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 qt. buttermilk
  • 5 c. plain flour, sifted twice
  • 5 tsp. baking soda
  • 3 tsp. salt
  • 4 c. Kellogg's All-Bran

Directions

    Pour boiling water over bran and let cool.

    Cream Crisco and sugar.

    Add eggs, one at a time, then add buttermilk.

    Add flour and baking soda.

    Fold in water and bran.

    Fold in Kellogg's All-Bran.

    Makes 1 gallon.

    Keeps 6 weeks in the refrigerator. Fill muffin tins 1/2 full and bake at 375° for 15 to 20 minutes.
