- 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups boiling water
- 5 teaspoons baking soda
- 4 eggs
- 1 quart buttermilk
- 5 cups flour
- 2 cups 40% bran flakes
- 4 cups all-bran cereal
Directions

1Mix 2 c boiling water and 5 t baking soda, let cool.

2Cream butter and sugar.

3Add eggs and blend well.

4Add buttermilk alternatively w/ flour, mixing well.

5Add baking soda/water mixture.

6Blend in bran flakes and All Bran.

7Store in frig at least 24 hours before using.

8To make muffins: Spoon batter into greased (or paper-lined) muffin tins; bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.

9NOTE: Batter will keep in frig for 6 wks.
