- 2 c. boiling water
- 2 c. Bran Buds
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 qt. buttermilk
- 5 c. flour
- 5 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 c. All-Bran
Directions

1Mix and set aside to cool the water and Bran Buds.

2Cream the shortening and sugar.

3Add the eggs and buttermilk.

4Add the Bran Buds.

5Sift the flour, soda and salt together.

6Add to the shortening mixture.

7Add the All-Bran and stir.

8Add the nuts, raisins or dates as desired.

9Can be stored in glass jars in refrigerator for 1 to 2 weeks.

10Recipe can be cut in half.

11Bake at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes.
