  • ORIGINAL RECIPE:
  • 3/4 cup apple juice or white grape juice
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 5 fresh California Bartlett pears - ureed
  • 1/2 cup apple juice or white grape juice
  • 3 T brandy (
  • MY MODIFIED RECIPE:
  • 3/4 cup pear juice from canned pears (in own juice)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 small cans (14 oz each?) or 1 large can or pears in own juice
  • 1/2 cup juice from canned pears
  • 3 T brandy (I used plain brandy but next time will use pear brandy)

    In a large saucepan, heat 3/4 cup juice and sugar until sugar dissolves. Cool. In large bowl, combine pear puree, 1/2 c juice and the brandy. Stir fruit mixture into sugar mixture. Freeze in ice cream maker according to manufacturer's direction
