  • 2 cakes fresh or 2 pkg. granular yeast
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 c. lukewarm water
  • 2 c. scalded milk
  • 2/3 c. melted shortening
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 4 tsp. salt
  • 10 to 11 c. flour (plain)
  • 2 beaten eggs

Directions

    Soften yeast and dissolve with 1 teaspoon of sugar in the water (lukewarm).

    Add milk that is cool to lukewarm; add shortening, sugar, salt and eggs.

    Beat well.

    Add flour to make soft dough.

    Let stand 10 minutes.
