- 5 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 pkg. dry yeast, softened in 2 Tbsp. warm water
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1/4 stick butter (oleo)
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. warm water
Directions

1Scald milk with butter, salt and sugar.

2Add warm water and softened yeast.

3Mix with flour and knead for ten minutes on floured board.

4Kneading is the secret of good bread.

5Replace in bowl, cover and allow to rise for two hours in a warm place.

6Turn the dough over and punch down.

7Let rise one hour and shape into loaves.
-
8Place in greased loaf pan and allow to rise double in size.

9Bake at 375° for 45 minutes.
