Bread And No Butter Pudding Recipe

  • 8 slc White thick bread
  • 2 c. Skim lowfat milk
  • 1 whl egg
  • 3 x Egg whites
  • 200 gm Sultanas
  • 4 Tbsp. Artificial pwdr, (e.g. splenda)

    Equally delicious but only 2.0g fat per serve:

    Spray a 21cm casserole dish with vegetable oil spray.

    Preheat oven to 200C.

    Remove crusts and cut bread into 2 1/2cm fingers.

    Spread a layer of bread slices (equiv to 2 slices) over the base of the dish and sprinkle 1/4 of the sultanas over this layer and then sprinkle 1 tblspn of powdered sweetener over the sultanas.

    Repeat layering till bread is all used.

    Mix egg, whites and lowfat milk together with a whisk and pour over the bread layers and bake in oven for 45-50 mins till set in the centre and lightly browned on top.

    If you are counting calories this is a good alternative to the real thing.
