  • 2 c. white bread cubes
  • 2 c. oatmeal bread cubes
  • 4 c. milk, scalded
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 4 slightly beaten eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Soak bread in milk for 5 minutes.

    Add butter, salt and sugar.

    Pour into greased baking dish.

    Bake in larger pan of hot water in moderate oven (350°) until firm, about 50 minutes.

    Serve piping hot with cold vanilla ice cream.
