  • 3 c. day old bread cubes
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • dash of salt
  • 2 c. milk, scalded

Directions

    Place bread cubes in a greased 1-quart casserole.

    Combine eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla.

    Gradually blend in scalded milk. Pour over bread cubes.

    Set casserole in a pan of hot water and bake in a slow oven at 325° for 1 hour or until a knife inserted halfway between center and outside edge comes out clean.
