  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 4 c. milk, scalded
  • 2 c. bread cubes
  • 1 c. raisins

    Combine sugar, salt, cinnamon, vanilla, butter and eggs.

    Add scalded milk slowly, stirring constantly.

    Add bread cubes and raisins.

    Mix thoroughly.

    Pour into well-buttered 6-cup baking dish.

    Set in pan of warm water.

    Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until an inserted knife comes out clean.
