Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • 1 king size loaf bread (stale)
  • 2 cans evaporated milk
  • 2 cans water
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar (more or less to taste)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. margarine
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 c. raisins (soak in water first)
  • nutmeg
  • guava paste* (optional)

Directions

    Soak bread in milk and water.

    Add sugar and eggs.

    Mix well. Add vanilla and raisins.

    Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Sprinkle nutmeg on top.

    Pat pieces of margarine over the pudding. Bake at 350°.
