Bread Pudding With Amaretto

- 1 loaf stale French bread
- 1 qt. milk
- 4 jumbo eggs
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. raisins
- 2 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1/2 c. Amaretto
Directions

1Break the bread up and soak it in milk in a bowl for 1 hour. Mix in 4 eggs, 2 cups sugar, raisins, cinnamon and vanilla.

2Pour into a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.

3Bake at 350° for 1 hour.

4Blend 3/4 cup of sugar and butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly.

5Stir in one egg.

6Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

7Remove from heat and add Amaretto.

8Spoon over warm bread pudding.
