- 10 slices white bread
- 2 c. milk
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3/4 lb. grated sharp cheese
Directions

1Cut off crust on bread slices.

2Discard.

3Brush each side of slices with melted butter.

4Cut into 1-inch cubes.

5In a 10 x 10-inch casserole layer 1/2 bread cubes.

6Add 1/2 milk and egg that have been whisked together and 1/2 of cheese.

7Remaining bread on top, milk and cheese.

8Let stand at least 3 hours before baking. Bake at 325° for 45 minutes.

9Salt to taste (1 teaspoon).
