- 2 c. potato water or lukewarm water plus 2 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 4 tsp. salt
- 2 small cakes yeast
- 12 c. flour
Directions

1In a measuring cup, put shortening and add enough water to make 2 cups.

2Add two more cups warm water.

3To this, add sugar, salt and crumbled yeast.

4Mix well.

5Add flour until it doesn't stick to fingers.

6Grease all over with butter and put in large pan to double in bulk (about 45 minutes).
