- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 2 tsp. sugar
- pinch of ground ginger
- 1 c. lukewarm water
- 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 c. all-purpose flour or half all-purpose flour and half whole wheat flour
Directions

1Combine the yeast, sugar, ginger and water in a large bowl. Let stand 10 minutes.

2Mix in the oil and salt, then slowly mix in the flour, adding just enough to get past the sticky stage and allow you to knead the dough.

3Knead for 5 minutes.

4Roll into long sticks, about 1/2-inch thick x 8-inches long.

5Place the sticks on a lightly oiled baking sheet.

6Bake at 375° on the high rack of the oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

7Serve hot.
