Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3/4 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1/2 c. lukewarm water
  • 3 c. plain flour
  • 1 stick oleo, melted
  • 1/2 c. sugar

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in warm water along with sugar.

    In large bowl, pour boiling water over shortening.

    Let melt, then when cool, add salt, egg, flour and yeast water.

    Mix well and refrigerate overnight.

    Roll dough out to 1/4-inch thickness.

    Cut with biscuit cutter and dip in melted oleo.

    Place in oiled Bundt pan.

    Let rise 2 to 3 hours.

    Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
