Ingredients

  • 1 lb. pork sausage
  • 6 slices white bread
  • 3/4 to 1 lb. grated cheese
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard or regular mustard

Directions

    Fry sausage and drain off fat.

    Butter one side of bread and place in well-greased casserole.

    Sprinkle cheese over bread, butter side up.

    Combine beaten eggs, milk, salt and mustard. Pour over bread.

    Sprinkle sausage on top.

    Cover and refrigerate overnight.

    Next morning bake covered at 325° for 1 hour.

    Uncover and bake 15 minutes longer.
