  • 6 slices bread
  • 6 eggs
  • milk
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • sausage, bacon or ham
  • American cheese slices or shredded Cheddar cheese

    Grease a 13 x 9-inch pan with butter.

    Butter top of six slices of bread and place in bottom of pan.

    Beat 6 eggs together and mix with milk to equal a quarter (4 cups).

    Place cheese slices or shredded cheese on bread slices.

    Cover with meat.

    Season with salt and pepper.

    Pour egg mixture over all.

    Cover and let set in refrigerator overnight.

    Bake uncovered at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes.
