Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. sausage
  • 9 slices white bread, crust removed
  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt and pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp. dry mustard

Directions

    Cook sausage over low heat until done and a crumbly consistency; drain and set aside.

    Spread butter on bread and cut into cubes.

    Place bread in a 13 x 9-inch dish.

    Sprinkle sausage on bread and cheese on top of sausage.

    Combine remaining ingredients.

    Beat well and pour over cheese.

    Chill 8 hours or overnight.

    Bake at 350° for 40 to 50 minutes until brown.
