Breakfast Casserole

Ingredients

  • 8 slices bread, cubed
  • 1 1/2 lb. fried sausage
  • 3/4 lb. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/2 c. milk
  • 3/4 tsp. mustard (dry)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 can mushroom soup

Directions

    Put half of bread into bottom of 9 x 13-inch casserole, then add half of cheese and half of sausage.

    Complete this procedure with the other half of ingredients.

    Beat together eggs, milk, mustard and salt.

    Pour this mixture over bread mixture in casserole.

    Cover and refrigerate overnight.

    Mix 1 can mushroom soup with small amount of milk and spread on top of casserole. Canned mushrooms can be added.

    Bake at 300° for 1 1/2 hours.
