- 12 slices sandwich bread
- 6 eggs, beaten
- 2 1/2 c. milk
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- dash of dry mustard
- dash of seasoned salt
- 3/4 lb. Cheddar cheese, shredded
- parsley, chopped (as garnish)
Directions

1Trim crusts from bread and cut into cubes.

2Beat eggs and milk; add seasonings.

3Lightly butter a 2-quart casserole.

4Line bottom with 1/2 of the bread cubes and sprinkle with 1/3 of the cheese.

5Repeat cheese and bread layers, then pour milk and egg mixture over all.

6Bake at 350° for 50 minutes. Remove from oven. Top with remaining cheese and sprinkle with parsley.

7Return to oven and bake 10 minutes more. Serves 8.
